PAINTINGS
ARABESQUE Arabesque is influenced by my interaction with other forms of creative expression—particularly jazz and modern dance. In each form, there is an overlay of line and rhythm, leading to experiences of sensory richness. In the Arabesque paintings, my explorations of composition and color are driven by interweaving the riffs of activity into a larger structure. The point of departure for me is the balancing of contradictory moments—slow, fluid passages set against fast paced jumbles, syncopated activity pushing through extended areas of calm. |
